I have basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and a TINY BIT of JavaScript. JS is where I’m focusing my learning currently as I’m more inclined to build browser games. My childhood was filled by this game called Habbo Hotel, it’s a multiplayer community where “habbos” can build their own rooms with virtual furniture, chat with other people and play games with each other. My goal is to build something similar to this with a different theme but the same sort of isometric tile system and pixel art style. I’ve started working on the sprites and concept art so I can get a feel of how I want the game to look, this part is easy for me.
What I’m having trouble with is understanding what I need to understand? If that makes sense.
Before I decided that I really want to just make browser games I was going down the route of learning full stack web development with my main focus on the front end and I knew what technologies I needed to learn to make that happen. In this case all I know is that I need to get my JS down and start to learn Phaser but I want to get pointed in the right direction before I waste any time learning other things that won’t help me.
Thanks in advance, folks!
