Definitely possible.

But majority of the work would be on the server and DB side of things, which is out of scope for Phaser.

I don’t know of any tutorials for this, but getting started with nodeJS should be relatively easy. Making it scalable and running properly would be tougher. I can recommend book Development and Deployment of Multiplayer Online Games, but that might be too advanced to start with.

I’m sure if you google around you will find plenty of resources on how to tackle this.
