That’s very well balanced! I’ve actually had more fun with this than with Vampire survivors.

Thank you for playing the game!
I will add content to make it a more fun game.

Is there an item that will clear the screen or clear a large number of enemies? The game starts to slow down for me after a while and I was thinking something like that could help.

Great idea! For balance reasons, the “Oi Tanghulu” item currently fills that crowd-clear role. It doesn’t completely wipe the screen, but it’s our designed option for taking out large groups. If there’s strong interest in a true screen-wipe, we’re open to adding one.

Also, to help with late-game slowdowns, the mini-app now includes a Low-Spec Mode.

We’re also continuously optimizing performance, so this should keep improving.

A new mode, ‘Arena’, has been added to Damo. Arena is an infinite wave game where you can climb endlessly to test your skills. Designed for skilled players, use a wider variety of upgrades and weapons to reach the highest level possible!

Did you add a screen shake when you take damage or was that always there?

The shake effect has been there from the beginning.
If it feels tiring, you can turn off Camera Shake in the options.

Ah ok. I think I got further into the game this time, because I noticed that after a certain point, there are a lot of full screen red flashes (for a boss, I think?). In addition, when the bigger enemies appear on screen and do their damage flash, you can end up with a lot of screen area flashing red multiple times per second.

This is a potential seizure risk. I’m photosensitive and after a certain point, I had to stop looking at the screen because I became very confused and disoriented. I would normally just close it, but I wanted to play all the way through so I could give you feedback. The screen shake contributes as well. I couldn’t look at the game at all with the screen shake. These are the WCAG guidelines about this:

With the random escalating nature of your game, I think it would be very difficult to calculate how many flashes you have. Probably the safest thing is to eliminate the full screen red flash. With the enemy damage, my suggestion would be to mute the red and then not flash it. Technically, I don’t believe the content of your game has to be WCAG compliant, but this would increase accessibility.

Oh, I wasn’t aware of this at all.
The boss effects and similar visuals were newly added, and I didn’t realize they could cause this kind of issue.

Thank you for letting me know.

I’ll remove some of the effects and take additional steps to reduce their impact.
Thank you again for guiding me so that more people can enjoy the game🥒

I have reflected what you said.

I deleted the screen-wide blinking effect and added the option “Hit Effect”, when off, it hits you with a more eye-friendly color.

It also reduced the camera shake by 90% when the player was hit, making it shake only slightly.

Thank you for your feedback

There was a famous incident with this involving a Pokemon episode that’s since been banned:

I did WebAIM training, so I was trained on this stuff. It’s probably not common knowledge otherwise.
