Packaging Phaser game in Unity for Switch

Kia ora! Dan here from Gamefroot in New Zealand.

I’m thinking about developing a platformer game for the Nintendo Switch. I’m wondering whether packaging a Phaser game into a Unity file / loading the game in via a WebView is feasible.

I think technically it should work. But would it just run slow as all hell?

Thanks in advance

I don’t know if it’s feasable, but what is the advantage?

If I understand correctly Unity also supports Nintendo Switch, so why not write the game using Unity?

(Btw I didn’t even know until now but Snipperclips, a pretty big launch title, was even developed with Unity)

You should talk to the guys who made crosscode, an html5 game written in impactjs (which is now open source)

Cheers. I’d love to know more about how they did it - do you have any additional intel or tips?

Sadly no, I can only presume that they didn’t have to do an entire re-write. The nintendo switch OS is based off freebsd, an open source operating system (same with the PS4, mac OS X, etc), and its fully capable of running chrome. Maybe their web browser already supports running html5, not entirely sure :s
